1. This was the first concept art I used for this project showing an overview of the funfair itself. I have now rearranged the park to something new but the concept/design still remains in this picture. Please note you are only imagining those monsters on the picture, they are not really there!
2. This is the new overall view of the funfair. I have noted the positions of the rides for when placing the models near the end of the project. It also contains concept for the front game which I'm tempted to redraw soon.
3. This is a shorter and smaller vesion of the overview map. The original map had too many ideas for the project so if they can't meet the deadline I would use this instead which is just as suitable, just less detail and attractions.
4. This is the concept for the Funfair Swing. Our group had already designed this from the start to be included and with the right textures it should look fine by the end of the project. Though there might be some difficult problems when creating the top of the swing.
5. This is the concept for the Arcade Machine Station named... ARCADIA! I'm such a Lovecraft huh? The Arcade was one of the ideas I contributed to the project in which I can show a lot of detail within one building, using several models to be placed. The inside map of the arcade was only the first draft and might be cut down to save time.
6. The Ferris Wheel. This was Leonard's idea to be included in the project. There were two designs he mentioned to be used which included the idea above and a 360' twist. We decided to only include one as they seemed to similar to be featured on the final result. About the concept... I do worry about how I';m going to design the chair-pods but currently on maya-news I can design the wheel itself right now.
7. I tend to think of this concept as "half-complete". These were some more ideas dotted down to be included as extra features for the Fair. This includes Litter Bins, Hammer Whackers and Funfair posters. I liked the idea of the posters in which we can create our own texture for them, and to look upon these posters would reveal background information of the park (this will be a see it or miss it situation within the film)
8. These are the additional funfair games. While they might not be as visual impressive as the main rides these would be fantastic background features for the fair. These includes a "throw balls and hit cans game", and a "Water gun the targets within time". It might be too difficult to show the effects of water within the time limit and experience of our group but we could at least show the event itself. The basic area of the room will pretty much be flat and If I can get basic cloth to work that would help with certain attributes to the viewing.
9. This is the skyswing or nicknamed as "Skyhigher" for this project. Don't question why they are named like this... PLEASE. This wa sa Leonard/Michael joint idea to be included with the park. I originally designed the test modelling with extruding the model into place, but not knowing at first that the body of the Skyswing would have to rotate I would need to redesign the model again with seperate body parts. My concern over this ride is how to create and animate the swings. Obviously we could just create string through thin-polygon/nurb vertical shapes but to animate it would be difficult, depending on the wind friction.
10. This was another idea I contributed to the funfair, the Bumper Cars. This ride is "cheating" for this project, though if the bumper cars were to move there wouldn't require any animation on the model except the sparks on the top. But I planned for it to stand still and to observer more than to move. I'm interested we can deisgn the themed-logos for these rides, especially this one.
11. These are some additional concepts for the park Including an early attempt of the Horse Ride-Wheel and the Haunted House vehicles. The Horse-Ride Wheel was cancelled due to the fact that the Skyswing was a replacement/alternative was the idea, and the details/modelling of the horses may have too difficult for this project with the rest of rides. The Haunted House vehicles was composed of using several themes from the Sources shown in my blog and I worry that the model might also be difficult to make.
12. As Mentioned just above, there is an Haunted House planned for this funfair. it's s shame we don't have the time to design the interior of the house itself but if we could make up for the outside's look and feel then our group will be satisfied with it. Again, like the vehicles from above. The idea was composed of the sources from my blog.
13. Heh... well. This was an idea noted down for the project that the audience for the park would have to go toilet/baby change SOMEWHERE. These shouldn't be too difficult to design and the interior might be an extra feature if we have time. I still need to research where the waste goes because I don't there would be pipes attached to the porta-potty. Help team?
14. This was another idea for the Funfair Games but unlike those shown above this was an independant game designed as a circular model. The game was to throw balls at the top of the bottles in which the cyclinder would catch it/hold into place. If we have time I hope to create "plush/cuddly" prizes attached around the model building itself to represent the lighter to heavier rewards.
15. These three concepts (excluding the first drawing shown in this post) were the first concepts to be drawn for the project. These were just a rough draft to see what I will redraw in the future and how things would work out. I do like the "Skytide" concept too but it was focusing on the textures more than the modelling which is Leonard's primary department at this stage. I see what Michael and me can do to help with this later as well.
Well that's all. There were more concept drawings but I didn't think (even as extra research) were fir for these blogs since the artwork wasn't as great and I would feel bad for putting them on here. These artworks are not amazing but I wasn't one for realistic concept artwork.
