Arcade then...

Well here's whats new. Using my grab machine as a test arcade object as well.. this might actually work. I've put the early screenshot alongside my "crude" concept art.
Looking kinda worky then... ye good old English there. I wasn't to happy using the "Freestyle Script" font at first, it wasn't anything about that font in question (I picked due to matching a similar matching style planned for this model) but it was the fact that I didn't create it from scratch. Then again it does work so what's the harm? I'm actually quite proud of the giant "arcade machine" in the text logo. It's only a square yet it looks great, I can't wait to see that textured, I might extrude some more from it perhaps... anyway here are some more snapshots:
The second picture was actually a mistake in making of the title. But It felt more... constructed this way. IF this was made for real they wouldn't bother filling the insides since you're not going to see it anyway (same situation with this film). Plus it would give the objects extra weight and I dont want support wires to be included as well. Though I might add some lights around the building or in the objects themselves...
More to come!

Grab that slacker! Ack!

Bad news. Modelling work is going poor and slowly. My maya has been playing up this week going slow, randomly crashing and not obeying commands. I knew this was going to happen but nevertheless I shall prevail... somehow.
Here are some snappies of the Arcane grab machine, it took longer to make due to these problems and I hope to upload the Arcade Station itself and other rides soon, but for now enjoy. Oh if you can tell me how to upload the maya file then I will.
And of course the sources. Since this was one of the details of the arcade I used sources from the internet. I might take some photos from the Arcade places up London for additional infomation and designs include former Segaworld and Namco.
Yeah sorry about the sources from the previous blog. They took too much room and that ham... I hate that ham. I am getting worried that I won't be able to do the models in time, and I actually thought it would easier than texturing. I was wrong.

Captain Hammer's Tribute

Here (almost finished) is the Hammer Whacker. While I didn't plan this to be one of the main rides it was a great start to the working of the models. I'm quite happy with the result of the hammer itself. Here are three shots:

Here are some website sources I used for the model. Though not the only ones used:

Some good hammer there... I want ham. Please note that ham shall not replace my posting of cake. No matter what happ

Do you think there will be wall?

Because I really like Paul's design. I think we should get rid of the wall in mine that would make the funfair more...like a funfair. And also it would reduces some modeling and texturing work. What do you think?

I love it when a plan comes together... on a blog.

Ok week 5, one more week ahead till we fai- I mean do well... yes... do well.

OK this is our plan this week coming from me, if there's a problem with this then tell me to change it, this not compulsory but I would prefer it.

Paul - Test models for Michael to freeview. Start working on the main models as well. (not needed this week) I'm going to work on a maya camera as well since I need more to do than just modelling. I'm going to learn as much as possible.

Leonard - Test some texturing, through the scans of the Funfair books or just of your own artwork. (not needed this week) but rendering testing could be interesting to see how they would look.

Michael - Finish the full storyboards. Though can be delayed for next week too, the animatic would be nice. (not needed this week) if you could test around with the lighting to see how it would look.

Its good to see we have MSN up and going and everyone can use the blog now. It took me a while to get that concept blog below from uploading due to Blodspot troubles.
